monday morning thoughts

After reading the comments in the last post there are a couple of things I want to say here.

I'm really really happy to have the kind of readers who support me, and believe in me and my ability to make the right decisions with my blog. If I wanted to make my blog super commercial and everything I could have done it way sooner. It sucks to read how some think I've changed now and only thinking about money. I've blogged for over six years, there's been so many different offers, and now this is a dream situation for me: not having to change ANYTHING and continueing my hobby, only difference is that I'm able to call it also as a job. I love blogging. This change means I will have more time for it. Thank you for respecting my decision. :)

Anyway, this is how my monday morning looked like, besides these thoughts.

Viime postauksen kommentit luettuani haluan täällä vielä käsitellä pari juttua. Olen todella todella iloinen, että mulla on lukijoita jotka tukevat mua päätöksissäni, ja ylipäätään luottavat mun kykyyn tehdä oikeita päätöksiä. Jos olisin halunnut blogistani tehdä huippukaupallisen raha silmissä kiiluen niin olisin voinut tehdä sen jo aikoja sitten. Olen blogannut yli kuusi vuotta, tässä on tullut vastaan ties minkälaista tarjousta ja ehdotusta, nyt mulla on mahdollisuus jatkaa harrastusta muuttamatta mitään. Ainoa muutos on, että voisin kutsua tätä myös työkseni ja käyttää siihen enemmän aikaa. Kiitos teille, jotka kunnioitatte päätöstäni. En mä tästä mihinkään muutu, tiedän kuka olen ja millainen olen, ja on tässä kuuden vuoden aikana selvinnyt oma tapa blogata, se ei muutu mihinkään. :)

Tältä näytti mun maanantaiaamu, näiden ajatusten lisäksi.

So here comes the news I mentioned in the last post... Not only will I move in September, but so will my blog! On the first of September and forward I'll be a part of a finnish blog portal called Indiedays. Nothing major will change, I'll keep blogging the way I've been doing it, with my own rules. I'm excited about this, I hope my lovely readers will continue with me on my blog journey! My address will stay as mariannan.com.

Osa on jo arvannut mitä tarkoitin muutoksella blogini suhteen, mutta kerrotaan se vielä täällä... Syyskuun ensimmäisestä päivästä lähtien minut löytää Indiedaysistä! Nyt ei siis pelkästään odota oma muutto, vaan myös blogin muutto! Sisällön suhteen ei mitään isoa muutosta ole kumminkaan tiedossa, jatkan bloggailua niinkuin tähänkin asti, omilla ehdoilla. Oon innoissani tästä, toivon mukaan tekin jatkatte matkassa mukana!

time of changes

I feel like days are going by so fast, can't believe this month is soon over. Only two weeks until I'm moving. This autumn is going to be a time of changes in many ways. Tomorrow I'll tell you one big change concerning my blog...

Tuntuu kuin päivät menisivät vaan vauhdilla ohi, vaikea uskoa että ihan kohta on syyskuu. Enää kaksi viikkoa muuttoon, hui! Tästä syksystä tulee muutosten aikaa monellakin tapaa, huomenna kuulette ison blogiin liittyvän muutoksen...

perfect end for summer

Wow, it was great to come back from my weekend trip and read all your many comments in the last post, thank you everyone! I'm pretty sure I have the best readers out there!

Anyway, my weekend at our cousins' island was amazing. Eating and drinking well (crayfish party & bbq!), swimming and sauna, playing different games, sunbathing, staying up late, remembering and laughing at all the funny memories I've had with my cousin, just having a good time. Kind of sad to say it like this, but this was the best possible way to end this summer.

/ Oli ihan mieletöntä palata viikonloppureissulta ja lukea viime postaukseen tulleet monet kommentit, kiitos teille niistä! Oon melko varma että mulla on parhaimmat lukijat mitä on!

Viikonloppu serkkujen saaressa meni loistavasti. Syötiin ja juotiin hyvin (rapujuhlat ja grillailua), uitiin, saunottiin, pelailtiin erilaisia pelejä, otettiin aurinkoa, valvottiin myöhään, naurettiin serkun kanssa kaikille hauskoille muistoille. Good times! Vähän surullista sanoa näin, mutta tää oli kyllä parhain mahdollinen tapa päättää tämä kesä.

This is what I wore on Sunday at the Flow Festival. Too bad there weren't cameras allowed, these outfit pics were taken right before I left there. It was amazing. Great company and so good feeling I didn't care about the over expensive cider or the long lines to food places. Or that Kanye was a little late, cause it was worth waiting! He played for over two hours, and the whole performance was just magical. Some iphone pics you can see in my twitter.

Tälläinen asu siis päätyi päälle sunnuntaina Flow'hun. Harmi ettei kameraa saanut olla mukana, nämä kuvat napattiin kiireessä bussia ootellessa. Ja pari iphonella napsittua kuvaa löytyy twitteristäni!

Niiin hauskaa oli, tuttuihin törmäilyä, hyvää fiilistä ja loistoseuraa! Ei siinä haitanneet edes

ylikallis siideri ja pitkät ruokakojujonot, tai Kanyen pikkuviivästys. Oli niin odottamisen arvoista, Kanye oli mahtava!! Aika paljon taisi jakaa mielipiteitä, mutta mä kuuluin niihin jotka olivat sen kaksituntisen soiton jossain taivaassa :-D

last minute inspiration

Still no idea what to wear at the festival, but these Coachella 2011 looks give me some inspiration. Hats, boots with dresses and denim shorts, hippie style, easy tops and t-shirts, crochet and lace, fringes, etc.. Okay, now I'm off to rummage through my wardrobe!

Ei edelleenkään mitään ideoita vaatteiden suhteen Flow'hun, näistä Coachella festareiden tyyleistä saa kyllä inspiraatiota. Paljon hattuja, bootseja mekkojen ja shortsien kanssa, hippityyliä, rentoja toppeja ja t-paitoja, virkattua ja pitsiä, hapsuja ym.. Noniin, nyt siispä penkomaan vaatekaappia!

tomorrow going with the flow

Today I went to get my Flow Festival ticket for tomorrow wearing this. I tried to make a little more casual outfit with that maxi skirt, last time I wore it with heels and more dressy bag, now with my new Steve Madden sandals and that Topshop feather bag.

I have no idea what to wear tomorrow for the festival, but I'll take my camera with me so you'll see that later!

Tänään käväisin kaupungilla tässä asussa, mm. hakemassa Flow-lippuni huomiselle! Yritin saada tuosta maxi-hameesta vähän rennomman, yleensä olen käyttänyt sitä korkkareiden kanssa, nyt tällä kertaa sandaalien. Huomisesta vaatetuksesta ei vielä mitään tietoa, mutta nappaan kameran mukaan niin eiköhän se plus muitakin tunnelmia Flowsta näy täällä sitten myöhemmin!

a little preview of autumn

I think today I was wearing jeans and wool cardigan for the first time in a couple of months. The wind felt colder than before, so it was time to test some autumn clothes. I'm surprised how refreshing it felt, in a good way.

Tänään kun tuntui tuuli viileämmältä kuin ennen, niin päätinpä kaivaa syksyisempiä vaatteita esille. En edes muista milloin viimeksi käytin farkkuja tai paksua neuletta! Mutta oikeastaan ihan kivaa vaihtelua kesävaatteiden jälkeen.

casual & easy

Today was a nice and easy day: seeing my friend, eating out, laughing a lot, taking these pics in a park and going to movies. I got my mind off some things I've been stressing about, today was actually a perfect day for that. Now I just need to focus on the many good things I have, life is too short to dwell on the bad ones. Cliche maybe, but true.

Tänään oli ihanan rento päivä: näin kaveria, syötiin Bravuriassa, otettiin kuvia puistossa, käytiin leffassa ja naurettiin. Sain ajatukset muualle jutuista joita olen stressannut, tänään olikin täydellinen päivä siihen. Välillä sitä aina juuttuu vellomaan huonoihin ihan turhiinkin asioihin, ja unohtaa miten paljon hyvää elämässä on. Niin kliseinen lause kuin onkin niin tottahan se on, elämä on liian lyhyt siihen.

not so good memories

I've been spending a lot of time lately with my old friend. She's going through pretty rough times, the first serious break-up. The first real boyfriend and breaking up is always hard, brings me back to my own memories. I was together with this boy over a year, and the last month of that was the time how long our break-up took. It's hard when you know it's the best decision, but the other one can't let go. He threatened me by killing himself, I got phone calls in the middle of the night, felt like a nightmare. No more details of that, but it was the worst possible break-up you can imagine. After that it was hard too, because he had turned a lot of people against me by telling lies. I was so tired, I never corrected them, I didn't care anymore. After all I was finally free. At the time I was sure there was no escape, no way getting out of it, but I survived.

moving out on my own

These last few days I've been arranging and planning one thing, and now it seems like it's happening! I'll be moving out on my own in September!!! I visited the apartment a couple days ago, and it was perfect. It's right in the centre of Helsinki, so it's in the middle of everything. I'm so excited about this, I just want to pack my things and move right away! Still one looong month to go. At least I have some time to look home inspiration pictures and dream about living in places like these..

Oon viimepäivät järkkäillyt ja suunnitellut vähän tulevaa vuotta, ja nyt yksi juttu josta oon haaveillut jo pitkään näyttäisi toteutuvan. Muutan syyskuussa Helsinkiin, Kamppiin! Oon aina unelmoinut, että asuisin niin keskustassa kuin mahdollista, ja nyt se oikeasti tapahtuu! Voi kun voisin jo pakkailla kamat ja muuttaa samantien. Vielä reilun kuukauden odotus, veikkaanpa että tästä tulee piiitkä kuukausi. No, ainakin mulla on aikaa suunnitella ja inspiroitua sisustuskuvista!

nyc shopping, part two

Michael Kors watch. On the first day I decided if I still have dollars left on the last day I'll go and buy this. I'm happy I had, now I think this was my best purchase!

I bought two pairs of Steve Madden's, it was some kind of an offer, the wedges which I showed you already and these sandals.

Denim shirt from Zara. Straight out of the suitcase, looks much nicer without those wrinkles.

Bikinis from Victoria's Secret.

Hoodie from VS also. Super comfy, when it gets colder I think I'll wear this at home all the time.

My old wallet is dying, so I bought a new one from Nine West.

The Zara maxi skirt you already saw in my outfit post was also from New York.
