Sorry you haven't heard from me in couple days, I came home yesterday from my friend's place where I stayed for a while. We've planned our NY trip soo many times, finally it's getting closer and closer, only 8 days left!!! If you have any tips, about shopping or restaurants or anything, feel free to give them! I'd be really grateful! :)

I'm excited for you. New York City is my favorite as well. I've only been there a few times, even though i live about three hours away. You definitely need to check out Times Square, eat at Planet Hollywood, shop at Bendel's and see the whole city from the top of the Empire State Building. Ahhh there's so much to see!! How long are you going for?

Hope you have an amazing time in New York. I'd definitely recommend going for a meal at Buddakan. You need to spend some time in Soho and the Meatpacking District and also go to the top of the Rockefeller centre for amazing views of Manhattan.

Kannattaa ehdottomasti käyä Empire State Buildingissa! liput ei muistaakseni olleet mitkään kovin kalliit ja näköala oli UPEA!! me käytiin myös semmosella parin tunnin risteilyllä Manhattanin ympäri jonka kohokohta oli varmasti Statue of Libertyn näkeminen:-)

try the LF and W!NK boutiques in SoHo, you'll totally love them. Also, bloomingdales in SoHo is great!!
for restaurants, The Stanton Social is great and Shake Shack (I think 72nd st. by central park?!) is a MUST :)

voisin mennä sinne vaik asuu, ehdottomasti käynnin arvoinen, jos sattuu jonnekki lähelle.
Metro on ehdottomasti kätevin tapa matkustaa siellä, se verkosto on aika monimutkanen, mut siitä pääsee nopee jyvälle. Kantsii ostaa sellanen monen päivän lippu, pääsee halvemmalla.
Mun matkan kohokohta oli ehdottomasti kävely Central Parkissa.

Dare to leave Manhattan and visit Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Bushwick, great vintage and thrift stores there and much cheaper. Also for bars and breakfast, brooklyn is great.

Tulin itse sieltä juuri pari viikkoa sitten kotiin.
Mä suosittelen ihan yleisen hengailun lisäksi empire state buildingissa käymistä. Vaikka onkin sellainen turistirysä, niin sieltä on auringonlasku aikaa ihan mahtavat maisemat! Vapauden patsas taas oli aika pettymys, ei kannata odottaa liikaa..
Jos aikaa on, kannattaa lähteä kaupungin ulkopuolelle outletteihin.
Manhattanilla kannattaa ehdottomasti suunnata Sohoon shoppailemaan! Ja tietty Century21 on aika must..

I was just in NYC today! It was freezingg so dress warm
Cafeteria is a great restaurant (in Chelsea on 7th & 17th) for breakfast, brunch, or lunch..
Also, check out Cafe Gitane in SoHo...it's a tiny local spot, but their famous avocado toast is very good!
SoHo has great shopping as well. There's Topshop, Bloomingdale's, and other boutiques. There's also Chanel, Burberry, Rag & Bone, Miu Miu, Prada, Fendi and Intermix--which are all fun to look at! :) have fun!
My tips:
Serendipity has great frozen hot chocolate and it's near Dylan's Candy Bar (Ralph Lauren's daughter's candy shop, the biggest candy store in nyc). John's has the best pizza and shopping in Soho is OK but it'll be shops that you see everywhere (Mango, H&M, etc. so I wouldn't spend too much time there). Sign up for free with "Playbill" and you can get around 50% off on Broadway shows- see a show!!! If you like the Beatles, "Rain" is really good.

ooOHHOH! Well, totally recommend going to the West Village - it's very romantic and of course lots of cute houses, cute people, lovely eateries and little boutiques. Plus, it's close to Forever 21 in Union Square where you've also got Filene's Basement, Sephora, and a Whole Foods.
In the West Village I recommend: Jeffrey's grocery for lunch and L'Artusi for dinner. Of course Central Park is great for photo ops any time of year!!!

Itse en ole päässyt käymään Nykissä, mutta ikuinen haavehan se on - tai ainakin siihen saakka kun sen pääsen toteuttamaan. Oma vinkkini siis sun tulevalle reissulle on, että ota kaikki ilo irti mitä vaan irtoo ! Mahtava reissu varmasti tulossa ja kun pääsee viettämään sen hyvän ystävän kanssa, mikäs sen parempaa :)
Itse tykkäsin Central Parkista todella paljon. Kun oli muutaman päivän talsinut pitkin kaupunkia, oli ihanaa istua alas nurtsille ja vaan nauttia auringosta ja seurasta. Toki me olimme siellä kesällä.
Me ostettiin (viikon vai kahden, en ihan muista) metroliput, eivät olleet kalliit. Välimatkat välillä tosi pitkiä ja metro helpotti liikkumista paljon. Vaikka treenaankin lähes päivittäin, tuolla tuli talsittua niin paljon, että jalat huusi iltaisin hoosiannaa :)
Ota reissustas kaikki irti :)

Olin just marraskuussa nycissä ja oon niiin kateellinen ku pääset sinne nyt, mä haluun takas! Mutta yks siisteimmistä kokemuksista siellä oli Empire state building, mentiin 11 aikaan illalla, ei ollu liikaa ihmisiä ja ne valot on vaan ihan uskomattomat. Shoppailuun Soho oli ehdottomasti paras paikka ja siellä oli muutenki kivoin fiilis, tykkäsin ite muutenki alakaupungista eniten. Sohossa shoppailessa jos ruokapaikkaa etitte niin siinä on kuubalainen suosittu ravintola Cafe Habana missä on tajuttoman hyvää ruokaa, kannattaa kokeilla!
Ota paljon kuvia niin me lukijat jumissa täällä lumessa saadaan kans pieni pala NYCiä :)

Mä olin just tammikuun alussa reilun viikon nycissä, se on niin mahtava paikka! Jäi vaikka mitä nähtävää ja voisin lähteä samantien uusiksi :)
Me ostettiin sellaset CityPassit joilla pääsee erilaisiin nähtävyyksiin, tulee huomattavasti halvemmaksi ostaa joku sellanen turistikortti jos meinaa käydä esim. Empire State Buildingissa ja jossain museoissa. Suosittelen Empire State Buldingia, sinne kandee mennä silleen että näkee sieltä manhattanin ensin valoisassa ja sitten iltavalaistuksessa, en ole ikinä nähnyt mitään yhtä kaunista kun manhattan illalla! Tosi upea :) MoMa oli myös vierailun arvoinen paikka.
Shoppailumahdollisuuksia on ihan kamalasti, kandee ehdottomasti käydä Century 21:ssä, sieltä löytyy vaikka mitä. Me ei käyty missään outleteissa kauempana, kun manhattaniltakin löytyi niin paljon kauppoja. Sohon alueelta Broadwayn varrelta löytyy mm. topshop, urban outfitters, forever 21 jne.. Kannattaa varata aikaa ihan vaan hengailuun, siellä on niin paljon nähtävää joka paikassa :)
I hope that you are not serious...Are you going to NJ for shopping and restaurants? In NJ is so many interesting things, places, or historical places....and for you is only shoppnig. There are the same clothes as in Europe. And you now in life there is more than clothes...

so i live in tribeca, nyc
and as a downtown new yorker, there are many fabulous places to go and you wont ever be bored. As a blogger and fashionista, you will need to be in soho. The food spots and shopping will be just what you are looking for. Barneys, bergdorfs, and saks fifth avenue in midtown will be another great trip and for fun while around there visit F A O SHwartz for some lovely toys and pics. Central park and go skating al Wolman Rink. If you need specific restaurants. Let me know, i can direct you the right way. I think I saw someone mentioned Cafeteria..and you must go there!

I've stayed in NY for one year and i can absolutely recommend you magnolia bakery in case you like cup cakes (you'll find it here for example 401 Bleecker Street). another hip restaurant i felt in love with was the yaffa restaurant in east village, 97 Saint Marks Place.

Sulla on ihana tyyli :) mutta siis tässä muutama vinkki nykiin, olen itse käynyt siellä kymmeniä kertoja, viimeksi kesällä.
Jos vaan on aikaa kannattaa käydä stekkaamassa mielestäni maailman paras outlet-kylä Woodbyry Premium Outlets . Nettisivuilta löytyy ohjeet miten päästä perille. Ja aikaa kannattaa varata koko päivä.
Soppailua Manhattanilla: yksi suurimmista Forever21 myymälöistä löytyy suoraan Times Squarelta, Abercrombie & Fitch löytyy 5th ave:lta, samoin Juisy Couture, Victorias secret ja tietty kaikki suuret merkit.
Macy's on broadwaylla ja siis maailman suurin tavaratalo, Saks 5th avenuen myyjät voivat olla aika nirppanokkia... Sohossa, Broadwaylla ja 5th avenuella kannattaa varata aikaa käbelyyn sillä kauppoja on paljon ja niissä kannattaa pistäytyä.
Central parkissa kannattaa käydä kävelemässä ja Grand central station on aika upee asema sieltä löytyy myös Banana republic. Jos taide kiinnostaa niin MET on parempi kuin Guggenhaim mutta tosiaan todella lähellä toisiaan.
Kannattaa käydä katsoa Empire State buildingin katolta naisemia, mutta sinne kannattaa suunnata kun ilma on mahdollisimman hyvä niin on upeemmat maisemat. Mielestäni vapaudenpatsaalla käynti oli turhaa, itse patsaaseen ei pääse sisälle ja lautta hidasta ja etenkin jonotus lauttaan. Brooklyn bridge on aika mahtava. Metron lisäksi taksilla on näppärä kulkea eikä maksa ihan kauheasti. Ainakin iltaisin turvallisempaa (mutta siis en ole koskaan pelännyt iltaisin Nykissä).
Saks 5th avenuella on perinteisesti upeet koristelut rakennuksessa talvisin, jos eivät siis ole vielä ottaneet pois ja Rockefeller Center on vastapäätä, on myös aika upee.
Hups. Vähän venähti. Toivottavasti näistä on jotakin apua :)

Moikka, tulin just viikko sitten Nykistä itte takaisin ja voi että oli ihana reissu. Tossa onkin jo noita vinkkejä annettu, mutta outletmesta Woodbury premium outlets kylä on ihan käsittämätön. Tunti manhattanilta bussilla. SIeltä löydät ihan järkyttävän määrän kauppoja jossa on ihan pilkkahintaan kamaa.

Hi Mariannan I love your blog! I have lived in NY my whole life and I definitely suggest that you go to Buddakan for a meal! It's a bit expensive but definitely worth it. Also Bianca located on 5 Bleeker Street. It's a very small Italian restaurant, very inexpensive, but very good food. They are cash only! Also have a burger at Shake Shack, it's delicious!

My dad just came back from NY, and everything is on sale at the moment, so he had a $400 Ralph lauren coat at $60 !! I was there just before the New year's eve, got to the Rockfeller center, and to the Abercrombie and Hillister shops on the 5th Avenue. And you must take a Starbucks and walk into Central Park. There is snow, it is SOOOOOO beauiful =D

ny is just amazing. you will have so much fun. its a place where you definitely wear whatever you want. balthazar is a place you can eat and drink something and maybe see a celebrity. the longchamp store in soho has a great interior design. tiffanys. macy's... a broadway show is definitely worth the money. there is so much to do, sightseeing, shopping...have fun!!!
